Earthing clamps are critical components in arc welding setups. Follow the safety instructions below to ensure safe, efficient, and long-lasting operation.

1. Use of Protective Gloves

• Always wear properly insulated welding gloves when handling earthing clamps.
• Gloves protect the user from electric shock, high temperatures, and sharp edges.
• Never operate the clamp with bare hands during or immediately after welding.

2. General Usage Caution

• Use only the clamp model rated for the welding current you intend to apply.
• Ensure the clamp forms a clean and solid connection with the workpiece.
• Avoid contact with painted, rusted, or oily surfaces, as these reduce conductivity.
• Adhere strictly to the rated duty cycles:
  • 35% duty cycle: Operate up to 3.5 minutes in any 10-minute period.
  • 60% duty cycle: Operate up to 6 minutes in any 10-minute period.
• Inspect clamps regularly for wear, corrosion, or mechanical damage.
• Always turn off the welding power source before connecting or disconnecting the clamp.
• Avoid using earthing clamps in wet or humid environments to reduce electric shock risk.

3. Insulation Safety

• Do not tamper with or remove the insulation on any part of the clamp.
